Melvin’s Why

Since joining the Chargers in 2012, Melvin has become one of the team’s most involved players in the community.

Melvin grew up in a financially disadvantaged, single parent home in rural North Carolina. Melvin knows firsthand what it is like to go without many of life’s staples that his peers received.

It is those experiences that led Melvin to establish Melvin Ingram’s Mission Possible Foundation in 2014 to provide educational opportunities and resources to low-income and inner-city students to help put success within their reach. Since then, the Mission Possible Foundation has helped thousands in Melvin’s hometown, San Diego and now the Chargers new home of Los Angeles.

IMPACT

The goal is to impact 2,000 children by the end of 2020. 

NEED

Children who grow up in low-income, single parent homes are more likely to: drop out of school, have kids out of wedlock and struggle to keep jobs.

WHY?

The purpose of Melvin Ingram’s Mission Possible Foundation is to provide resources to financially disadvantaged children from single parent families to help them reach their full potential, and beat the odds.
