PROGRAMS
Gearing Up
Many children and youth that are living in low-income single parent family homes do not receive the shoes, clothing, and supplies to go back to school each August.
This program would provide backpacks full of supplies as well as back to school clothing and shoes to these children and youth.
Each August, students would be invited to a local-retailer where they would get to meet Melvin and receive an autographed football; as well as a gift card that enables them to shop for shoes and clothing they need.
Mission Christmas
Many children and youth that are living in low-income single parent family homes miss out on Christmas. This program would provide Christmas to these children.
In November, these children would send their Christmas list to Santa. In December, they would get to attend a dream Christmas party at Dignity Health Sports Park where they will be surprised by Melvin.
Once receiving their very own autographed football, the real treat comes when they make their way to the visitor’s locker room. There, each child has a locker with his or her name on it. Inside the locker is Santa’s bag that contains some of the items that were on their list.
